Default New to site. Need exhaust help!

Hey guys I have an 07 GMC sierra Crew Cab and I want to put true duels on it with a flowmaster 40 series but I talked to a guy the other day and he said it was a terrible idea. Because of it switching from v8 to v4 when coasting or on interstate, he said it would get too loud to handle when it goes to the v4 mode. Any thoughts or suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

hmm I've never heard of that before .. honestly, I would expect the complete opposite, but I haven't driven one of these trucks with the MDS/cylinder shut off thing.

There are some who say they can hear a difference with those when they go to 4 cylinder, but not too bad. I would think if you're runnin straight pipes yeah bad idea but I say go for it.

Yeah it really depends on where you live at too. Ive changed the exhaust on my truck so many times, and it seems like the single 3" all the way back has been the better choice as far as performance, especially with headers.
