Default New stereo in my 2000 silverado?

ok so im thinking about putting a new stereo in my 2000 silverado ext cab, manly just to replace my factory system. i dont know much about car audio but i can figure it out.. im not looking for a loud booming system, is there any kits out there that will work with my truck? thanks.

If you want good sound quality I recommend Pioneer or Alpine.

You'll need an antennea adapter, Dash kit (to make it fit nice), and a wiring harness.

lol duh i just noticed that crutchfield shows me exactly what parts i need. sorry for asking such a stupid question!

If you upgrade to an aftermarket head unit, i would recomend upgradeing your speakers too. If you dont need to THUMP, then just a basic set of entry level speakers would increas the sound X10! i would recomend Rockford Fosgate because of sound, but JL makes realy good stuff too as well as polk.

i actually wanted to buy a stereo and speaker combo (which i did) because the stock speakers were blown. i got a crappy sony xplod headunit and speakers. but i also put in a 12" RF sub. it gets the job done. i thought it would be loud enough for me but after sitting in my friends truck i need more lol.. if i can ever save my money haha.
