LMAO. What did I tell ya!??! Something unrelated. And a transmission shop would have never figured that out. They just assume it needs a rebuild. Well now we can be thankful for these forums cuz I have learned so much by them as everyone else has. Glad you got her fixed!!

aint that the truth! half of what I know about working on cars I've learned through searching on and posting on forums when I have problems come up.

Default no speedometer and trans wont shift

I had a Ford f-250 that was doing that and it was a speed sensor in the rear end, that in my case came unhooked and didnt let the truck shift. If u have a mechanic that will give u a straight answer for minimal charge it may be easy to check.

Thanks, that was the first thing I looked into figuring that was the problem but didn't work. Issue has since been resolved, I mentioned it in a previous posting in the thread ended up being the Brake fuse, swapped in a new one (actually there wasn't even one in the fuse panel) and presto! speedo started working and she shifts fine now.

I realize that it's an old post but my tranny would'nt shift and my speedometer stopped working.I was looking around and foundthis post.I be darned if it was'nt the brake fuse. thanks

i know this has been awhile but so the brake fuse helped your cause to? My truck is doing all the same things this guy has explained

So when you say brake fuse where is this located? and is it a fuse or a relay? Thank you
