noise out of the rear of truck

hi guys i just bought this 00 silverado(124K mi)and when i go forward or reverse i have asuspension sound in the rear of the truck sounds like rear axle area...anyone have an answere? thanks

it's more like a rubber squeak sound

Dry/failing u-joints will squeak,and often it will be cyclical,speeding up or slowing down with the speed of the truck.

There are rubber bushings at the ends of the shocks that squeek. Very common, just replace them. You can also try spraying with silicone, and if they are not too dried out you may be OK.
