noise up front
hi all i will do my best to explain noise. 2000 chevey silverado 5.3 117000 miles sounds like its coming from passenger side under hood. kinda a whining noise when you give it gas it goes with rpms fan seems tight dont think waterpump. is there anything that runs off the belt bearing of sort. i am not very mechanical seems like is quieter when under way. any help will be appreciated thanks. i know it could be anything but i dont know how to describe
reading older posts i believe its the idler pulley bearing i did try a wooden dowel and the nise does eem to come from a pulley. is the only way to ck is take belt off? not sure i can get back on.
I think I have the same issue, ive been procrastinating badly about it. Putting the belt on is very simple. Follow the diagram thats under your hood and use a socket to tighten the tension pully and slip the belt back over.
