As soon as i open a door on my 2000 silverado 1500 the alarm goes off. I cant seem to shut it off by starting the truck or the remote. It seems to ring for about 10 minutes or so even if your driving down the street. If anyone can send me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it!

 

Sometimes I have a problem with my alarm when I acidently set it off and I can't seem to get the thing to shut off ina timely manner but never had the problem that you are experiencing....I really have no idea....maybe try resetting the computer?

 

Im wondering if i didnt create this problem by using a key that walmart made. I think the original has a chip in it that im sure the new key doesnt have?

 

did you put the key in the door and turn the key to unlock it, that 90% of the time will stop the alarm you shoul also have a button or switch under the dash that controls the alarm which you can set it to diff. setting

 

There is no chip in our keys......good idea though.
