not again!
i broke my power steering pump (again)... anyway, if i remember correctly, it cost somewhere around 500 to get a new one put on last time, and since i have nowhere near that much money to throw around, i was wondering just how big of a bitch they are to replace... i have access to any tools that would be needed, just wondering how long it'll take and how hard it will be
alright... i was looking around last night and i kinda figured it wasn't going to be easy... anyway, another question...
you know how the steering wheel stops and it makes almost a hissy noise when you cut it all the way? well, at one point i hit a huge rut and slammed the steering wheel over (not on purpose, but it happened)... and it made a different noise than usual...you think that could've done it?

i can get a fan tool, i think me and my buddy that builds hot rods are going to do it, i was just checking to see how long i should expect my truck to be out of commission
the gm tool is sort of like a fireplace shovel with 2 small pins sticking out...you stick those pins in 2 holes on the pulley to hold it as you turn the big nut.
these tools have faults though....the pins tend to snap off and your screwed.
myself...i grab my air hammer with a long punch in it and just drive the nut counterclockwiuse with the belt still on.
