Unplug your remote starter/alarm and see if the dash lights turn off.

Thanx I went and tried that but the light stays on I unplugged everything that has to do with the remote starter. I was reading sumwhere that I could be the alternator is this correct? And if so is there a way to test it without going and buying one

So these lights are always on, even with the engine off? If the battery light stays on while the engine is running, then yes, that would mean your alternator is not charging your battery.

@ Speedbum. Have you done any recent installations of any electronic accessories like gypse01 did?

No customer brought in for a drivability concern and said that the light has been on for quite a while
