Default Oil Pan Gasket

I've got a 98 GMC with a 5.7 and I need to replace the oil pan gasket. It's just puking oil out the front. Has anyone done this job before? Do I have enough clearance with the front crossmember to get the pan out? Or do I need to unbolt the mounts and lift the engine up a few inches in order to get the pan off? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

what i would do is lift the engine off the mounts a little bit.

its the easiest way to do it if you have the lift. it will give you alot more clearance and theres no undoing any suspension and crossmember components. also while your at it check your big rodend bearings to see if they are down to the copper if they are replace them just torque the nuts back to specs!
