i would like to put an older chevy truck shortbed on my 1998 silverado z71 short bed fleet box...something form 1972-1985 stepside chevy ...i known they change the frame and so on ........
if any one has done this or has a clue feel free to e mail me ...but i dont need feed back that says you cant do it ...lol
the body shops up here have no clue for custom work so i will have to do it my self and with the help of you all ...i am sure someone eles has done it ...
i am trying to save a few steps ,like best year to go for /weather i should buy a 8 foot and cut it down for the best fit or what ever ...........

You can easily mount a bed from a 66-72 with very little effort. Redrill for the bed bolt and probably rework the mounting plate for the bumper and you're in. I've seen several done and it looks pretty sweet.
