old truck wont start :(

Default old truck wont start :(

i tried to start my old truck to hera the open headers and it cranked fired once and dies and keeps cranking also the voltage suckes even though its a new battery and connectors


maybe since i took the hood off and maybe water get in somewhere? but i always kept the engine covered with a tarp

is it getting gas?
also check to see if its sparking
is it carbed pump the gas or just hold it to the floor

What engine? My 5.0/305 doesn't crank for long until it slows down. It's got like a 750cca on it I think.

If it's TBI, then pull the air cleaner and look down the throttle body and have an assistant crank and look for fuel. If you've got fuel, then it's spark. Check for spark. If both present, perhaps bad fuel, low compression or not enough fuel and a regulator or pump issue.

its got spark and i have no clue where or how to check my regulator

its a 4.8 and i know its good gas because it was running the day before and ran very nice

What year and what motor? If it's cranking weak, I'd almost say starter but you said it did start amd crapped out so I'm gonna guess maybe a control module. Ps, they don't like water.

its my other 99 4.8

but the starter works great! its cranks fires once then quits

no clue i have to run out and go get it.

im also going to pick up a new relay and see if that does anything

All my relays and fuses are good

Sprayed ether and it ran good for 5 seconds so it must be fuel? But all the fuel relays and fuses were good Or can a MAF sensor do this because I was toying with thatt thing
