Im new here and have looked my question up online and came up with nothing so lets see if anyone out there could help me out. Id really appreciate it! So lets start off I have a 1979 4 wheel drive gmc k1500 With a 350 motor and transmission. Im trying to hook my speedometer cable back up and there is a hole in the transmission as if thats where it goes but i have nothing there to screw it on. Any idea what that piece is that i am missing?

 

A picture of the area on the transmission would be helpful. I'm assuming you have a TH350 transmission, but I can't say for sure.

Doesnt the speedo cable on a 4x4 go to the transfer case?

 

Uh, yeah ... I apparently skimmed over the 4x4 park lol
