2017 GMC 3500 HD with capless gas tank

I was advised to replace the purge valve under the hood. The check engine light has not turned off after driving for several miles. Does anyone have the similar experience with this code? One of the suggestions was to clean or replace the gas cap however, my truck doesn't have a gas cap. Please advise. I appreciate any help with this issue.
