got a door speaker headin south, sounds like charlie browns mom. just lookin for some ideas and input on brands. was thinkin about bose... I know their quality is good, but I don't know how their automotive speakers sound. open to ideas... thanks!

Bose's is good. Match up the specs to the ones your gonna remove.

What year truck? Does it have Factory Bose in there now? If so, I would consider replacing it with Bose. If not and you just have a radio without an amp I wouldn't spend the money. With the lower wattage of just a radio pushing them just about any aftermarket speaker is going to sound the same.

Shamrock, it's an 06 single cab. Bose and Onstar were the only options available that I didn't get. couldn't find one in that trim. Anyways, I do have an amp driving one 10" sub, but I don't know if it's also plumbed to the other speakers as well. I am completely ignorant when it comes to audio and wiring. A guy owed me money for some race car parts and it just so happened his daddy owns a car audio store... and that's how I got where I am now.

Then I would just get a good set of aftermarket, not Bose, speakers. Pioneer, Clarion, JBL, Kenwood, etc. If your not sure about the amp pushing your door speakers unplug the RCA cables going to the amp and see if the speakers still play, if not they are obviously connected to the amp. If they are connected to the amp just get some higher end of the above listed name brands.

I have basically the same truck minus a few options you have. I have some pioneer speakers in mine. I like them. I'm ignorant about the electrical stuff too.

Ditto on what Shamrock typed anbout unplugging the RCA cables. Either way a good set of qaulity speakers will be a good idea.

Avoid Bose audio unless it is OEM. The ones you buy at Best Buy, etc. are usually some no name brand with a Bose emblem thrown on, so Bose can make more profit.

I have had mostly Pioneer before and been happy with the sound but as said above you really won't notice a difference unless powered by an amp. If you're not gonna hook em to an amp, I'd say watch the weekly ads.

You must have jinxed me - my speakers started distorting so I stuck some $40 Wal-Mart Pioneers in there today. It sounds great! I just have the stock radio - no amp.
