does anyone else have a problem like this: I have a 03 silverado and when im goin 60mph i hear this cracking sound like bubblewrap coming from somewhere. its annoying as heck and i haveta turn my stereo up just to drown it out. Im positive that its comin from the windshield/windshield sealbut i want to make sure. my windshield does have 2 really small nicks in it but theyre not close to where the sound is comin from. to me it sounds like its coming from the upper right corner of the windshield and it gets worse when i pass 60 or when its a windy day. anyone have any ideas??? thanks

 

Is your seal in good condition? It may be pulling up due to the wind at that speed. I would make sure it is down good.

 

Popping or a rattle? I have had a rattle that sounds like that ,drove me nuts - it turned out to be the plastic vent up on the cowling just below the windshield ,next to the wipers. The air lifts it up and gets it rattling . I had thought it was a bad shock mount for a long time.

 

Your bug shield is deflecting the air,and making the top rubber seal above the windshield lift up aROUND 70....Removing the bug shield will confirm this

To fix it...run a bead of black rtv silicone under the rubber...kinda messy,but it works
