Default A powerful question.

I remember when I ordered my truck it said the 4.8 had 285hp and 290ftlbs. I was looking at some turbo sites and supercharger sites and they claim the 4.8 is pushing 220hp and 250lbs. So whats the deal? I belive the 4.3/4.6 don't remember which onne is the 6has a little less than that, eitherway the power numbers are off, hell some chevy sites nowsay 275hp wtf?

Well I'm hoping 285 stock but I'd be happier with 275 stock over 220 anyday!

Who cares? None of us are stock anyway, LOL! The real question is what will a lightly modified 4.8 put to the wheels? I think after I get headers and a tune I'm gonna get mine dyno'd.

Exactly my point, except this is a little more to the point It can really throw throw numbers off in the long run. As soon as I get a little extra cash I'll be getting mine done as well, I know what my truck is estimated at it's conservitive at that, I'd be mad if it was way off.

After research I found out that GM boasts 275 for mine stock and Hypertech dynoed it at 220 at the wheels before the programming.
