Question pulling 5.3, tranny, trans case as unit?

I'm mid-process on this but thought I'd better ask before I get much further. I'm pulling the 5.3 (233K) from a 2000 Silverado 4X4 with automatic. I already have the radiator support off the truck. Is it possible — or advisable — to pull everything as a unit or should I separate them? I'm replacing the engine and will have the tranny freshened.

Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

It can be done as far as I know, but I would at least pull the transfer case. It ins't that much more work to pull, and will be significantly easier for you to get the engine and trans out of the truck

Good idea. I hadn't thought of that and it would make it easier, for sure. Thanks for the suggestion.
