Default Question for Argon

Hey, just thought you would be the one to ask being a GM Tech.

I just bought an '07 Silverado (new body style) LT with the 4.8

Their is a red wire bundled up with tape coming out of the wire harness leading to the fuse block under the hood. This wire has a flat ring at the end of it. I haven't checked to see if the wire is live. Anyway, what is this wire for???? I have only one battery and it is located in the right rear of the engine compartment.

Even a guess would be helpful, Thanks

I bet it is for some random accessory that you don't have.

there are two wires...1 on either side of the box...1 is for trailer brakes....the other is a power scessory to the rear (like to charge a travel trailer)...they are dead until you hook em up on the aux posts in the fusebox

It depends on if it has a trailering package or not...if your 03 does...then yes
