Default rear brake pads

I'm replacing the rear brake pads on a 2004 2500 HD diesel. I have pulled off the calipers and the pistons are pushed back. The pads don't come out easily. How do the pads come out?

The pads are slotted and slide along a plate. I thought I could angle them out, but no.

There are two pins with dustcovers that the two halves of the caliper slides along. Do I have to remove these pins to get the pads off?

I recently worked on the rear brakes on my 2003 1500. This was the thread:

What I found was that it is better to remove the caliper holder (mine had two 18mm bolts holding it on) and take the stuff to a workbench. My pads were stuck, also. It took some time to clean things up.
