I started a different post because I just realized that the remote start with the key fob is not working along with the high beams. Also I used the remote start yesterday and it worked ok but when I got in and started driving there were no high beams < thats when the problem started, maybe some connection?
2011 gmc sierra 1500 5.3L 53,400 mi, crew cab. Both of my high beam lights went out at the same time. They were working earlier in the day, then when I used the truck later in the evening they would not come on, high beam indicator on dash works.

What I figured out is that I'm pretty dumb. The hood was up when I was trying to use the remote start. And both of the high beams were burned out. Thing is with the lights, I have a 99 sierra 1500 with 109,000 miles on it. I replaced the original bulbs with brighter ones, the originals were not burned out when I changed them and I never put another set of bulbs in that truck, I still have the originals and they still work, so I thought I was getting very short life out of the bulbs in my new truck until I did some research and found out that the brighter the bulb the shorter the life. < guess I'll be living a long time...lol.
