Exclamation Removing wires from spark plugs

I have a 2002 silverado 1500 5.3L v8. I was planning on changing my spark plugs, when I tried to remove the wire from the plug I could not get it off. I tried squeezing to see if there was some sort of clamping device, nothing. I tried pulling as hard as I could, nothing. does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

try getting ahold of them with some pliers and twisting that should break them loose

You need to twist them while holding onto the boot
Then pull them off

I use my hand so the boot does not get punctured

If you were pulling them by the wires

I'd replace them, you may have damaged the conductor wire

Buy OEM wires they have very little resistance
and fit like a glove

I just finished swapping mine out as well

The truck idles awesome
