Default replace a 4l60e with a 4l80e

I am thinking since my tranny is out on my 200 GMC Sierra 2wd 1500 with 102,000 miles I am going to pull the 4l60E and put in a 4l80E. From what I can find there is very little difference. I am going to look at another tranny tonight and if the connectors are the same I think I will buy it. If I have to buy a new flywheel that's no an issue and I am not worried about having the driveline shortened.

Thoughts or concerns?

I have always wondered the same thing. I would love to know how hard the swap is. Keep us posted.
