Default Resirecting a 2002 Chevy 1500

No clue if I spelt the title right but who cares.

I'm looking at buying myself a Chevy, not just being given one. I'm looking at buying my uncles 2002 Chevy 1500 LS 4x4 for $200 but it has a few serious problems.

2 years ago the truck was roled but fully repaired and put back on the road. But after that the shop it was brought to was going to replace the head gaskets and when they polled the truck in they went to take the exhaust mainfold off and snapped the bolts off. My other uncle has an engine that will work

Then last year he had a little to much "water" and drove home and hit what he claims was a mail box but we are certain it was a culvert. It tore the front wheel clean off. It has been sitting in a barn since then jacked up off the ground. We know that the axle is broken but what I am really wondering what else could be wrong. The body is just about mint besides just a little damage from going in the ditch after hitting the "mail box".

I hope to be getting some pictures tomorrow or by the latest this weekend. All help with be appreciated.
I have access to most of the parts and tools needed for the work needing to be done. I can get the parts for under a grand and have all summer to work on it because I don't get my liscence until August. I just need a list of some of the tools needed.
