Ride of the Month soon!
 

Patrick(site Admin) said we could host a Ride of the Month Contest and he would post a picture ofthe winner's ride on the right side of the screen either below/above the top 10 posters box. So while I'm waiting to here back from him on how he wants to coordinate the poll, I want everyone interested in participating to respond on here some generic "I want to be in the Ride of the Month poll."

What I think we'll end up doing is just starting a regular poll thread and everyone can submit pictures of they're truck. But I gotta see who all wants to participate first. With that being said, I'm first on the list with my truck!!!

I'm sorry, somewhere in the middle of that sentence your thought train got garbled up. What I think your asking is, "will we be having a Ride of the Month that includes Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Imports?" The answer as of right now is probably just Chevrolets, however I'm gonna try to look into the other boards and see if they look active at all. Patrick(the admin) said that the Chevrolets are really the only main hits on this site so he didn't mind if it was just a Chevy only thing. However I don't mind competeing with the other guys at all if they want to. If thereis a they to want to, LOL!

I was just considering that. I'm thinking there will be a minimum post count of say 25 posts.... maybe 50, I don't know yet. That way we don't get these fly by night guys on here making they're first post a submission to enter Ride of the Month. What do ya'll think? I don't know that they're should be any other rules.

You can only win once a year, have a certain amount of post to vote or enter, have to do a wright up with pics of course.

Well whenever we do the actual poll I'll have all the guys who wanna be included submit a post with the pics and info of their truck.So, so far we have
1. You must have a minimum post count of 25(officially!).
2. If you win, you cannot resubmit for Ride of the Month for atleast 1 year.

Anything else? Maybe "you cannot be a fan of Britney Spears", "you must know what the proper tire pressure is for your truck", or "you can't have any gaping rust holes".

I say the rules should def. be at least 25 posts, i kinda like the 50 posts better. But we should start another thread once we get a def. on whos going to be in the running. Have them post pics, and talk a little about there truck. But i would like to get in this running too.

I like the idea, but for now Im pretty much stock and Im getting some rust fixed so I would be out until summer. Good idea though. I would like to see it.

The post requirement is 25. And I don't care if your truck looks stock. If you wanna participate then by all means. My truck is dang near stock on the outside but there's more to a Ride of the Month than just body mods. How clean it is, how well kept up it is, and how visually appealing it is are all major factors I think.

Should we make it so there is only a certain number of participants per Truck of the Month, or are we just gonna have say 10 trucks running for that month.

I don't know, so far I've only seen 5 people in this thread that are interested. Will probably keep it at like 10 or so but if more people decide they want in, we might have to do some preliminary judging.

Funny you mention ride of the month. We are doing the same thing on the CF. I have won an ROTM on the Blazerforum and if you want to adopt rules like they have I can help you out on that. They have had time to work the bugs out of everything.

I don't think eligibility should be based on amount of posts. We have it on the Blazer forum where you have to have made at least x posts per month for the past x months. In our case 5 posts a month for the last 2 months. That way, no one is nominated that isn't active on the forum. It also encourages growth of the forum by encouraging members to stick around.

I'm working it out with the administrator right now. There's no point in rushing things until he's ready for it cause he's the only one who can actually add the winner to the side of the screen with the writeup for that vehicle.

He takes a little while to get back with me cause he only checks in once a week or so but Hopefully we'll get this thing rollin soon.
