My cuz put a 350 in his 81 jeep which was from a suburban. The burban was a throttle body injection type. All he did was replace the intake with an edelbrock and the motor ran like a champ.

You will need a adjustable fuel regulator to step down the fuel pressure or else you'll blow the jets out of the carb. It should bolt up to the transmission ok, but I have no idea if it will shift correctly (I don't know how dependant the transmission is on the computer). But technically it should work just fine.

And if you want to convert the carbed motor to EFI, then I suggest using your Vortec equipment and a intake conversion like 04BLKCHEVY said. It might be a pain to put it all together on the carbed motor but the end result would be sweet. You will have to have the computer programmed to tune for the different motor.
