A friend of mine pulled in to my driveway this morning with a mangled hood. The latch rusted & pulled out of the hood. I'm not sure what year theSilverado is but is isn't a junker or rust bucket. It is just starting to show rust on the outside body. Have any of you seen this? Might be worth looking at your trucks if you are in a salt use area as we are in Vermont. He said it wasn't fun seeing the hood in front of him at 60-65 down the interstate.

Here is the underside of the hood. He never noticed the rust but I have never seen this in my29 years of driving.

Wow that realy sucks! Ive never seen that either.

 

I had an old Ford that did the same thing... never seen it on a Chevy though
