No complaints about my 2000, I have the 5.3, very reliable engine.

Man that sucks glad to hear you are okay.

I would go for around a 1999 to 2001 the seats on the inside are better then the 1990-1998 and the body is differnet then you have been driving so new mods and stuff.

i personally like 99-02 trucks... the only thing is they are a little more complicated to work on

If I had the choose to buy another truck, I'd just go up a year or so to a 00, 01, 02. 99's still ahve some querks, 2000 has a little less. 99 have a good balance of technology and older mechanics. For instance, you don't need any of the GM blue stuff for the transfer case and the diffs. 01 and 02 have the most power of the four here so that would be an option for me too. The best part about anything 99 and up, they are quieter, smoother, and more powerfull. So you can't go wrong.

yea i was kinda leaning towards a 00 ext cab. be a nice shift i think. but i have my eye on this really well done 91 too. itll boil down to how much money the insurance company ends up paying. i was thinking about buying mine back and parting it out to recoop some of the funds. so maybe a 00 is within price range. i had to take the chevy rental back now i have a 07 dodge 4 door. not a bad truck at all.

Shame on you!!! Lol. Look at the 09s coming up. They don't look half bad for a Dodge but they are copying Fords new look.

It's very apparant that GM, Dodge, and Ford are all copycatting eachother and it's kinda gay cause they are all too much like eachother now. I also think the newest line of trucks are all way too big in the nose. Too hard to park in my opinion.

As for my opinion on the newer GM trucks, I love them but be forwarned that 99 and up have a terrible time with the stinkin fuel pumps. Fuel pressure regulators too for that matter. I wouldn't trade my truck for any other truck in the world though. My only beef with mine is having the 4.8 instead of the 5.3 but the 4.8 still hauls butt!

I think so actually. But only time will tell. I haven't been able to drive it out of town and park it for a couple hours to test it to see if it stalls out but I think I'm good to go. I'm wandering though if anyone makes a high performance fuel pressure regulator for the newer GM trucks.
