Default The Silverado Shakes

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 extended cab, 2-wheel drive, it has 112,000 miles. When I accelerate to around 20mph and above my whole truck shakes very very badly. My first thought was that maybe it needs an alignment or that maybe it was miss-firing. Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone have any suggestions on what this might be? Thanks for reading.

Does it seem to hit a "rough spot" or sumthin.... cuz mine does at about 40. The whole truck just kinda vibrates as if the engine is coming off of its mounts or sumthing... dont know what it is orhow to fix it

The tires are almost brand new. I was recently in an accident but it wasn't a major one. After that the truck just started shaking violently at 20mph and any speed above that. It's not something that happens every once in a while, it does it everytime. Could that be causing an alignment problem?

I had a 98 S-10 that did this and it was the drive shaft. At low speeds it would shake like a madman!

Where were you hit? Could've bent something. Does it happen at a certain RPM or at a certain speed? If it's speed related, what speed does it go away? When you're driving straight, what angle is your steering wheel? If you let go of the wheel, does it pull to one side or another?

I was hit at about 30 on my rear left side... It happens at a cirtain speed and when I give it gas or brakes it stops... what does that tell you?

MrLM7,

I was hit on the drivers side door.It happens at about 20mph and doesn't stop at higher speeds it only gets worst. One thing Inoticed today while it was parked was that the passenger side front tire is straight and I walked to the drivers side front tire and it was turned out slightly. Does that have anything to do with an alignment? looks like it could mean a more serious problem.
