That would be one way to check. If you have a multimeter you could compare the resistance readings for the wires. My MSD wires had about 85 Ohms resistance if I remember correctly.

 

well its the MSD wires that are giving me the problem. their OHM readings are fine so the only thing i can think of is they aren't seating well on either the plugs or the coils. i ordered them off line and the box the wires come in says they fit '99-'05 trucks... mines an '06 so maybe that has something to do with it.
