Hey thanks. So what kind of tires did you go with. Im looking at the 285 70 r17 bf goodrich Mud-Terrain™ T/A® KM and did not know if that was a good tire or not. Also i had a 2000 chevy 1500 z-71 and i bought new torsion keys for it and never put them on and did not know if they would fit a 2005 and if it was even a good idea to put them on. I got them for about $70and have just been sitting around.

I decided to go with the kuhmo KL-78 all terrain due to cost. I can get a set for $565 with mount and lifetime balance. I really like the BFG mub terrains, but cannot afford them. I had a set of 35x12.50x15 on my 93' z-71 and they were great. had to go find new mudholes since in the old ones I never had to use 4WD. They also lasted for 50k + miles. But at $200 a tire for 17 inch rims, I can't afford that.

I run 285/75r/17s on my 00/Z71 - No lift kit - stock - No rub and I've taken it to Anza, Moab and TaraDelSole many times. BFG ATs. I dumped the stock Bilstiens long ago for Edelbrock IASs which did cause me to lower my headlights a bit. I am on my second set now. The shops will tell you they will rub but they don't..

Still not able to get it done, damn work schedule and unscheduled bull****!!!!! Sorry guys I will try again this week, as a worst case scenario I will put my boses tires on with nissan rims and try to go from there. He has the same tires in 17" rims.

OK, finally I got to try the tires and they fit pefectly. At the closest point you have 1.25 inches of clearance to the front bumper. This was with nissan rims, but they are the same size. I am having my tires put on on thursday, and will report any issues if they arrise. I will be going out of town on friday so I will have 600+ miles of testing.
