how do i soundproof my truck cab from excessive exhaust noise? don't get me wrong, i love the rumble, but on a long trip it gets nerve racking.

Dynamat the inside of the cab, under the carpet and do the insides of the doors and back of the cab. That should take care of all the noises from the road and the exhaust. It will also make you stereo sound better.

Spray-on bedliners (like LINE-X) can reduce a lot of road noise too.

I am not too familiare with that being a sound deadner. I don't believe that it would compeat with the droning sound of exhaust. Just in my head anyways.

Well, obvisouly if you have noisy exhaust, it'll only do so much. But with all the vibration going on underneath the bed from all the moving parts, the spray-on liner helps minimize the bed's rattling/vibrations. It certainly isn't the end-all answer, but it can certainly contribute.

Here is what I would do. I would take all of the interior out and while I had it out I would get the do it your self roll on bed liner kit and line the entire inside of the cab, then I would line the interior with Dynamat. That will be the best thing to do. The bed liner material will stop all the rust and help with the sound deadening. Then with the dynamat, you shouldn't hear anything. If you put the dynamat in the doors and sides of the cab you will be just fine. IMO!

That is what I would do if I had the interior out anyways.

Is there any alternative for dynamat? I just found out that it is a bit expensive.
