SS front bumper
First I wanna say howdy to everyone seeing as how this is my first post. Well, I finally did it...I've had my 2006 chevy 1500 for a little over 2 years and I finally wrecked it...It was a sad day...To make a long story short, I need a new front bumper. Most of the damage was sustained on the driver side corner. The brackets in the middle and passenger side are fine. So basically I need the bumper and the driver side brackets. I found a guy that is selling an SS front bumper. Now I know absolutely nothing about the SS equipment so my question is, this SS front bumper looks kind of like just a valance with the need for some type of bumper under it. Am i right or would this cover bolt right up with new brackets on the driver side???? Any help from you experts would be awesome. I've done a little research so far but cannot find anything conserning this issue. Please help if you know the answer or can point me in a good direction! Thanks so much!

I am pretty sure that the SS has a facia and a bumper under it. If you have the same set-up then I don't see why it wouldn't work. But if you have a regular bumper with metal on the top half then you may have to change the entire bumper equipment. (Mounts and under bumper then the mounts for the facia) Other people on this forum may have a better idea of what you should do, but what I would say to do is look up the parts for the front bumper for your truck then compair them to the parts on an SS bumper. But like I said earlier is that you may find that they are totaly different set-ups. Good luck, I hope that the SS bumper will work. It would look really cool if you got it to work.
