Default Starting Problem...

I have a 98 Silverado Shortbed Z71 w/a 350 Vortec engine w/98k miles. It has recently been starting w/some problems. I used to barely turn the key and it would start. Now when I turn the key it cranks for about 2-3 seconds then starts. Any suggestions before I start replacing parts?? I replaced the alternator less than 2 weeks ago.

Do you think that would be my problem?

Now mine though takes about 5-7 seconds to start?

What do you guys think?

it might be like a jeep the fuel regulator doesnt hold the pressure so it has to build up , try turning you key a couple times and let the fuel pump run then crank it to see if it helps
