Default Steering Wheel Alignment

How would I go about getting the steering wheel lined back up to where when I'm driving straight, the steering wheel is straight? Right now, it is turned to the left a little when going straight. Would a front-end alignment take care of this?
Thanks

Get it realigned and that will fix it. If you are dissatified with the allignment make sure that you take it back just after you get it done (within the first day). That should be all that you need. What caused this to begin with?

I have had my truck lined up 3 times over the last 4 months and the steering wheel still has to be turned a little to the left to go straight, just like RobF. I have seen a few new trucks like this too, and I thinkit could be a factory defect.

I'd have it checked anyways. I could be how your tires are worn also. Maybe have them rotated side to side when you get it checked. If it still does it after that, and its not too bad just keep in mind that most roads dip to the right to drain the water from the surface. Where I live some roads are pretty steep.

Try to switch the front two tires only, then make sure to check all tires pressure. Then if that doesn't fix it, take it back and get it alligned and tell the tech that you have had this problem and he will address it.Also like I said before make sure that you take it back as soon as you notice what is wrong with the alignment.

I had new tires and an alignment last week,
after that the steering wheel was turned to the left ...going straight
I guessed it to be 7-degrees
I took it back and they found it was off 6-degrees..

The tech mentioned starting the engine so the power steering
is pressurized... which will affect the steering wheel position.
Any way he fixed it...it should be straight an alignment should take care of it. The tech should check all the tires for pressure before he starts.

Alright guys, thanks alot. I'll take all of that into consideration. I did rotate my tires a few weeks ago. The front ones were worn on the outside edge, the left front more than the right front. I put those on the back. The front tires are now evenly wore. I guess that's what did it, I don't know. I'll just have to get it aligned.

It is important to use a reputable shop. It took me 3 shops to find one that offered to straighten my steering wheel.

I agree with Cracker. They are supposed to straighten the steering while while the car is running and then take their measurments to see how "out-of-align" it is. Then they should lock the steering wheel and make the adjustments. Some places don't give a sh*t and just measure it up and align it.
