I am looking at putting a kenwood small sub in my truck. Why dont they put rca's on the back of the factory stereo's? I would love to keep the factory stereo but no RCA's. Sucks

 

I had the same problem man.
If you do some research though, you can buy a converter that will work on your factory head unit. Ask any stereo shop and they should be able to hook you up.
Also, this may be just a rumor, but I heard that some of the newer GM radios were coming from the factory with RCA pre-outs.....

I did not know that, thanks for the info. Also that would be great to see, there is no reason for them not to have them, it only makes sense.

 

I think it is only the top end stereos with the factory pre outs

 

hey guys the piece your talking about is called a LOC-2 converter, it just basically taps into your speakers in the door for signal instead of using RCA cables. it is th same setup pretty much. i had it in my saturn and it worked great, never had any probles with it.

 

The converter is also a low level input so it requires very little power from the speaker wire, so it doesn't affect the door speaker performance.
