Default Strange transmission sound

Aloha folks,
New to the forum here and I joined to solicit some help from the maintenance experts out there. I have a 95 silverado Z71 and recently did a full 30k service on it which included transmission flush and filter. My first time replacing a filter.
So, I performed the service and even replaced the seal around the filter(which by the way way aTOTAL pain) and refilledwith dexron 3. Checked the level several times. Good to go. Transmission seems to run just fine.
The thing is I now have a strange metallic noise when I first fire up in the mornings. It sounds something like when a fan is spinning and lightly scrapes the edges of its cage. The noise also occurs when I lift off the throttle after hard acceleration.
Its coming from the front of the tranny and happens even park, at which time the only moving thing in the trans is the torque converter. However, I did nothing to the converter.
I think it can only be two things, high pressure fluid bypassing the filter because of a bad seal I replaced it with, or a torque converter issue.

Any ideas ? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jake

How will I know which one I have? I figured the Z71's all have the same one.

Thanx,
Jake

I imagine the flywheel is hitting the dustcover..with it running, flex the cover a bit with a screwdriver or something and see if thats it

Thanks Aragon,
By dust cover you mean the big metal shroud that is just foreward of the tranny pan. Man, I thought that was where the torque converter was located, I'm retarded.
That seems like about where the sound is coming from.
So just tweak the case using a screwdriver and leverage from the engine casing? It wont unseal that rear bearing will it?

Thanks,
Jake

It took all 5, and 5qts IS the capacity right? My Chilton manual said fill with 7 qts. I did that the first time and it was spraying everywhere. NEWBIE!

Yes..the black cover...if you know its coming from there...with the engine OFF,try to tweak it..or loosen the four 10mm bolts and move it around...
