I have a 1996 k 1500 that I started to install the sway bar link on the truck today but, I'm running into a issue with finishing the job because the front end has a large plate running across. Does anyone know how to finish connecting the bottom of the bolt?

Watched you tube videos but, all the installs are on trucks that don't have that plate there.
