My tailgate won't open. I had problems in past with it not closing, but WD40 sprayed on end latched and into handel area took care of teh problem. Now it is shut and it will not open. I sprayed WD into handle area, but not the trick. Any suggetions?

 

i had the same problem. take the handle cover off and look at the two rods that are connected to the handle that latch to the sides. One of your retaining clips probably broke off which is what happened to me. I went to a junkyard and found the clip (red for the drivers side, green for the passengers side).

 

dealers have the red/green clips..not sure on the price,but can't be much.

theyre like 6 bucks a piece at the dealerships.
