Tell us what you did to your truck today...
Picked up the 2000 3500 from the upholstery shop - got the 2 front seat bottoms redone and had them clean the carpets. WOW what a difference!!! Liked it so much I left the Suburban there for the drivers seat bottom to be redone. They are getting there!!!!
If you don't mind me asking, what's the going rate on having the seats redone down there in SC? I checked with a local upholstery shop here in Victoria about having the bench seat redone on my '98 and they estimated atleast $1,000!! [which I thought was pretty damn steep, for that price I'd better be getting a daily massage along with it too!] I'm just wondering what the ball park rate "should" be.

Changed the oil on my 98 Sierra and started removing the 5th wheel plates out of the bed. They are a pain when the bolts are rusted!!! Put new belts on the tahoe I am thinking about keeping for my wife and sent the cluster in to get rebuilt (stepper's replaced). The tach stopped working and was making a clicking noise. I didn't realize initially that it was coming from the tach and I was looking all over for what the hell the noise was. Oh well I got it figured out now. There is a company in Tennessee that replaces all the stepper motors and bulb sfor $68.00 - can't beat that!
Here is their web site...

For some reason their prices are cheaper through eBay though. So do a search on there for your particular cluster. Their eBay name is ate1234.
Just so you know I have nothing to do with them and have used them 2 times and have had good luck so far.

I only had the 2 bottoms of the 2 front seats done and it was $300. They also removed the rest of the seats and steam cleaned the carpet (which basically made it look brand new) for another $100. They are now doing just the bottom of the drivers seat on my Suburban for $150. They also did just the outer panel (the one that always wears) on my wife's truck for $80 and her arm rest for $50 a couple weeks ago. I think I am their #1 customer this month!
Went to Home Depot with the truck again yesterday for more building materials. Drove it to work today so I could bring home some "new to me" free-bee nerf bars from a co-worker.
