I've heardof some people doing came swaps on their 5.3s i know i'll do hardend pushrods. But i need some help finding a streetable cam, any pick on roker arms [&:]This stems from my goal to spank the crap out of my buddys' 01 mustang gt(glorified tempo!) lol he hates that one! just the look on his face whenmy sierra that weights twice his car pull off from him at the track.........priceless

 

I've heard that it will really help. I wouldent know where to get something like that though.

 

That we'll definately beef it up big time. Although a custom ECU tune goes hand in hand with that to make it work. Honestly there aren't too many guys on here who'd know about it but www.ls1truck.comis a GREAT forum to learn about it on. There are dozens of guys on there who have done cam swaps on these trucks. Good luck with it man.

 

Yeahi stumbled across that site the other daythats what really gotme thinking boutitorignally i was gonna use a bully dog programmer but like you said if i'm doing a cam swap, not to mention i'm upgrading to the factory 05' dual electric fan set up i'll have to have the ecm reprogramed anyways, which come to think of it we've got a shop here in p'cola that can do that. thanks for the help ya'll

By the way, last I checked, Bully Dog only makes programmers for diesels. Also, your so close to XXX Performance you should save your money and get it custom tuned anyway.

Oh... I was notified about this![:@] LOL! I know Banks offers shorty headers and I think they offer an intake for us as well. But never heard of Bully Dog making anything for a non-diesel vehicle.

 

Yeah I sent banks a email with some questions and now they keep calling me. I haven't answered yet because I know I wont be able to say no. Ive made a bunch of money on the job im on right now(do to 103 hrs a week average) so I plan on going turbo. But I want to wait till I get home. Mostly because I wont have anything to drive during the build. Here is what made me cream my jeans
