hey guy this is my frist post on there and i looked around frist to try to find the answer frist but no luck

my buddy has a 1988 gmc 1500 5.7, and the dealer told him that him needs a new throttle body,, so my question is what years will work???

so far all i found was 87 was the frist year for TPI,,,, also can i pull one off a v8 car?.OR Van?

well i pulled one off a about same year van looks about the same will see

 

I didnt know any body made a after market one that will still work with the cruise control. But yes I do need a new one my throttle cable cam is broken. If you know the after market one you have or if you like to sell your old old one I would be interested.
