When you do it you should do a big *** wright up on with allot of pictures! That would make an awesome thread!

Allot of people wont mess with a trans at all maybe if you make it look easy they wont be worried about doing easy thing like servos and changing fluid.

Did you make the trip? I also anticipate a rebuild in the hopefully not-too-soon future - but I don't want the same OEM rebuild... why bother, ya know?

I did make the trip.............thus the thought of the rebuild....she blew all the fluid out the "burp" valve on the highway in the middle of Iowa........ I put fluid back in it and some lucas and said a little prayer and made it home .....but now the tranny tech part of my mind says to rebuild it....even though it shifts fine still

My tranny guy highly recommended this when I did a rebuild on a 1998 Z-71...
700R4/4L60E/4L65E Heavy Duty "Beast" Sunshell
[Part# 77749HD]

700R4/4L60/4L60E Beast Sun Shell
This Beast Sun Shell Kit includes the hardened sun shell with a new thrust washer. The factory sun shell is a weak point on the 700R4/4L60E transmissions and the New & improved BEAST is the solution! It is highly recommended for any type of heavy duty or high performance application.

This Beast Sun Shell is an essential component for anyone looking to raise their transmission to the next level. Highly recommended for heavy duty & performance applications.
I obviously just copied and pasted this from the website we got it from. Here is the site link...
