Tires - How large can I go?

I have a 1992 GMC Sierra K2500 with a 7.4L gas hog...It has stock 8-lug wheels which I kinda like but I want to go a bit larger on the tires. I currently have 245/75/R16...how much larger can I go?

Put 285's on that bad boy. That'll beef it up a bit.

you could run a 295 75 16 on it im running 305/75/16.5 on my 01 silverado with just torsion keys an 2 inch blocks no rubs at all
