Okay guys. I need some help and info. My truck has the 4L60E trans in it and it is going bad. Got and engine light but the code is for the tranny. Says the TCC is detecting slippage when comparing the input speed to the output speed. The truck also shifts extremely hard from first to second for a while after getting off of the freeway. So I feel its time for a rebuild. I've rebuilt a couple of Chrysler trannies and a couple of TH350's. So I know I can rebuild this one. However, being as this will be my first 4L60E, I have a couple of questions. Are there any special tools I need for the disassembly and reassembly? And any other tricks and tips from someone that has done this before would be awesome. Thanks guys.

 

i know GM is known for always having special tools for getting things off and on but give it a shot

i havent started working on trannys yet but i actually have a diagram of that transmission in my book the 4X4 one
