Transmission Temperature question
Was wondering if anyone had any input regarding transmission temperatures. I have a 2011 Silverado with a 6.2L in it and 3:73. I tow a TT that weighs about 6000 lbs. I've towed a handful of times and notice that my transmission temps are what I consider to be high (100 to 115 C). Is this within acceptable range? My last truck was an 2008 Silverado with a 5.3 L and 4:10 in it. Rarely saw the tranny temp pass 100 C. Talked to my dealer and they weren't overly helpful other than to say that the warning will come on at 135 C. I'm about to make a trip through the mountains so I'm trying to convince myself not to be paranoid.
Anyone have any thoughts/comments? Thanks

Nothing to be overly concerned with. That is a little high. But if that is were it is holding at? I would just keep an eye on it.
Normal is 60 to 80
Towing Can be 80 to 125
It may improve after your trip.

In2Trux, thx for the reply and welcome. It seems to hold in around the 100 - 115 area, have not seen it above 115. But I haven't towed through the mountains yet either. I will definitely be watching it. Will using the trailer tow mode make any difference in the tranny temp?
