Truck won't start
I have a 96 silverado, ran fine yesterday, today won't start. Battery is charged, all power stuff works (lights, radio, horn, etc) but the starter will not turn. So naturally I thought the starter needed to be replaced. So I did that, but still no luck. Its like there is no juice getting to the starter. All connections are good. No blown fuses that I can see. What could it be???
No, I was not getting any juice at the starter, nothing.
However, I finally figured it out. Turns out that a disabled, aftermarket security system that was installed by the previous owner had shorted and blown the starter fuse. Every time I replaced the fuse and turned the key, the fuse would blow. So I yanked out the security system and replaced the fuse again and everthing worked normally. What a pain.
I'm all good now.
