Default true dual exhaust

what are the advantages/disadvantages to a true dual exhaust system?
also what is there for cheap but decent systems?

Dual exhaust set up is, IMO, only for big block set ups or small blocks that are cammed out or forced induction. Like a regular 350 stock will not benefit from a dual set up. Its too much flow and it will lose bottom end. If your running a big cam and high stall converter then it will work.

okay, thanks for the info

The truck came stock with a dual exhaust behind the muffler, does this do anything other than looks? or does it have a advantage or disadvantage over a single exhaust pipe

Well that is mainly for sound. They do single in dual out with some good tips and you get great sound. So it depends if you want performance over sound or vice versa. Let me know and I can give some tips on how you can get the most out of it.

well right now i'm trying to get power out of the truck by doing small changes to it, I use the truck mostly for pulling trailers with other trucks and skid steer loaders, the truck came with a tranny cooler when i bought it

Ok. You will want to keep back pressure on that set up. So adding mufflers adds restriction, which in turn is back pressure. Thats where your bottom end comes in play. These motors were built to have restriction so they can make more power.

Well if you want some rumble, a single in single out will do just fine.
