My friend gave me this crazy idea......about putting a tuner exhaust on my 05 silverado...what do yall thing....good, bad, or straight up stupid....

 

what is a TUNER exhaust?

are you talking about using only the muffler? I dont think you could use a after-cat system

 

oh, i didnt know that...wouldnt that be kinda wierd to put an inport exhaust on a silverado?

 

What is the difference between tuner exhaust and cat back. The only info I can find about tuner exhaust is for honda, toyota, etc. cars. I do not see any for trucks. I also don't see any real difference except that the mufflers are at the end of the exhaust.

 

No diffrence between tuner and cat back. Only its just a little weird to put one one a truck. But if you really wanted to, anything could be done. I say go with flowmaster

 

I agree to go with flowmaster. Plus tuner exhaust sounds expensive.

 

Well i went with the all powerfull FLOWMASTER and it sounded like a S***. and my friend agreed...so we got on ebay and bought 2 tuner exhuats and a y-pipe.....the grand total for it all was about 80 bucks......so i am having a guy custum install it....tomarrow......so i shall keep yall posted on how it sounds..... i might b starting a new mix between the import guys and truck guys.....

 

nate, there's nothing wrong with flowmaster as a product. you just went with the wrong muffler. the 40 series is pretty loud, plus you has it exit barely passed the rear window, so of course it's noisy. the flowmaster 50 and 70 series muffs are quieter, and have the same flow characteristics.
