Default very excited newby ! 2005 Sierra SLT !

hey there, Nick here from Canada . Just blew up my '96 Jimmy and have found a great deal on a 2005 Sierra 1500 SLT. 60,000 miles, loaded , just needs new rubber. The only thing about it that worries me is that 6 out of 8 of the coils seem to be covered with an oily substance , like someone has spilled brake fluid on them or something. The driver side bank and the front two on the passenger side . The rear 2 are dry and perfect . Any ideas? I'm not overly concerned but it's a little wierd.
Looking forward to a real truck !!

Nick

Hi there Nick from Canada

I'd say it's probably just spilled oil from when someone was doing an oil change. If you could ID the mystery fluid, then perhaps we can postulate on the source of the goo.

Sounds like a nice truck, as long there's no engine gaskets or seals that are what's causing the mystery fluid.

I'm unfamiliar. Where are the coils located? Are they coil over? or coil packs?
