Default wanting to know what typical prices for

a frame for my 88 scottsdale would be at a junk yard its a 4x4 reg cab 1500 when i was pulling some tumps out with a buddy hooked up to my front tow hooks we broke my tow hooks one just broke the bolt the driver side took it the worst it broke it off the fame weld in all but is dangleing there by a skiny peice of metal
and the rear of my frame where the bumper attatchs to it is cut cause the previous owner cut it trying to get the hitch off i was stupid and over looked looking at the frame when i baught it but what can ya do when it was a 700 dollar truck
i am just wondering how much a frame for that year or newer would be.
if anyone has an idea it would be greatly apricaiated
thanks

It would take A LOT of work to put a new frame on the truck. It would be easier to get a fabrication shop to make new ends for your frame and weld them on there real good. it doesn't sound like any parts of the frame are damaged that would effect it mechanically, so I'd imagine you'd be good on that front

well gmc sierrra fan i have decided to do a frame off restoration to my truck found a frame for 150.00 it will be here tuesday
i have to get a new frame due to when i was pulling a wired fence that was stuck on a twig or branch the part that was already bad damn near broke off.
so tuesday i have a new frame and door
i already started the process so cant stop now
also put my new hood on finally it looks ok for me rattle canning it almost looks like it was painted by a pro
also went out and baught new door bushings put them on.
i was realy thinking of just goin to a fab shop but all the ones around where i lived didnt want to do it cause of liability i said who needs that
so im am goin start the process of buying new frame bolts and all the stuff i need for i tear into it to much

Alright sounds like a plan!

Keep us updated on the process. I wouldn't mind seeing pics of the damage and truck/progress either if you get a chance

Angry well the rebuild is on hold for now as things didnt work out as planed

well my hopes for a frame off just got crushed
the guy i was buying the frame from never came through for me he lived about 2 hours away and after several several calls and emails he changed his mind on what time and day he would deliver the frame for me so i gave up hope on it for now but not gonna give up im tacking down parts like crazy found a bunch of trucks for the same year frame as mine but they want to much for rusted out junk
but i am know talking to a guy 20 minutes away about buying one i have baught parts from him so i think it will happen
the guy wants 150 for just the frame its a short box 4x4 frame what i am goin to do is cut the part of the frame off i need and weld it to the frame i have now and scrap the rest to get money for the project
i posted new pictures the other day of the fender also will have more later as the rebuild goes on
